I'm off for the holiday weekend and will not be back until Monday, so you are getting you Happy Holiday now. I hope everyone has a great holiday and are safe if they are traveling. Like I mentioned we do have a new addition to the Masa Yume crew. In fact we have two. NO! No one had babies lol, we have new staff members lol. SO a warm welcome to our Stylist and PR person Soojin Kim! I've known her for years and she has always had warm words of awesomeness as well as having a great eye for fashion and amazing in her PR-ness...yep, we just make up words here. Also another addition is Holly Schalk! She has been modeling Masa Yume for years as well, and she is definitely a ride or die model. Even when I made her do a photo shoot in the middle of winter in a skirt and tank top, she went out there and did her thing. I love that she is our main face and she has an all around good look. Welcome ladies!!!

Alright, now for your Christmas/Holiday present...yes yes I did get you something. And yes something besides free shipping and free gift wrapping. I did a look for this weekend lol...whaaaa???

I can't believe it's December! Where did the year go? No really....where? Because it was summer yesterday. Just sayin'. We've been working a lot on re-branding ourselves and getting our marketing together, and have made new additions to our team. Which I may say I'm really excited about, and we aren't done adding yet either. I did do an outfit today, one warm and makes you feel like it's not so sad outside. I love spring and fall, so winter and summer are real bummers for me. I'm too hot or way way to cold. So why not at least look fashionable while doing it, that way you can at least feel somewhat better. How has everyone else been? What are you looking forward as we cruise full speed at towards the new year?

The weather dropped today! YAYY!!! By no means am I saying I like winter, in fact I dislike it more than words lol. However I LOVE LOVE LOVE fall! Now it feels like it! SO excited! I realized sitting on the couch yesterday next to the hubby, that my birthday is coming up next month...So I think I may throw myself a birthday party. Anyway's moving on, I did a look to show the drop in weather. I love the look, to me it's minimal and with the earrings and skulls you can think about Halloween (my favorite holiday) and still be cute and comfy.

Did anyone catch Beyonce's new video that came out his month? I like it a lot! I watched it a few times when they first posted it! Everyone should take a look. I love the color of her hair, I was wondering how much longer she was going to stay blonde. It doesn't look bad, I was thinking it was time for a change personally.

I love love love green and I love how vibrant that the one below happens to be, so I didn't add as much as you normal would when accenting an outfit with color. Yummy outfit that I wish I owned is below lol. Masa Yume has finished it's look book! You can see our facebook fanpage photo for a sneaky peaky. I can't show what the pieces are yet, but yes they are amazing and comfortable. The shoot had the models petting themselves and wishing they could take it home. I made them sad that it wasn't available this year. But they will be first in line when it comes out I'm sure. I am constantly trying to better our main webpage to make it look better lol. Besides that, I've been working my tuckus off on the line and now will be designing the last few pieces for fall next year as well. I'm super excited that out of this amazing s/s line I will now have a few signature pieces that will be in the coming lines as well. On another front of fun! The spring/summer 2012 line is coming along nicely. The patterns are done and now we are just waiting of the fabrics to come in. I'm soooo excited! From there we will do a look book! I'm looking forward to it, and I'll even give a sneak peek...if you're good. ^_^

The first day at Shuto Con was lonnngggg...mostly because I've been up since 7:30 this morning ^_^. however this being our first anime convention to got to, and the first to have a table at it was a lot of fun. It was great to see all of the cosplay outfits and how much people put into their costumes and that people are very very inventive when trying to get there vision across. Got a visit today from photographer Jean George and her little friend Ryan. He commandeered my new desk and designed circles all over the paper with purple marker. But only before painting his nails and palms with the purple marker ^_^!

Chicago Trip and Update...

Sorry the first one did something funny mailed from my phone.

So the trip to Chicago was a bust :( however we had a good time. Although the taxi had no clue where he was going and I had to let me know he missed the turn lol it was still fun. We were all wiped and slaphappy by the time we got on the train home.

So I am taking another route when it comes to getting fabric. Found a pattern maker an manufacturer in Lansing, Michigan! Michigan Proto will be taking care of me and they are already proving to be amazing. Spring/Summer will be an amazing accomplishment through everything the brand has been threw.

So coming up in a couple of week is Shuto Con. We've been preparing for it since January and we hope to see you there. I love anime and can wait to take some really cool and funky accessories and tees to the show. If you haven't bought your ticket you should or you can pay at the door!

Alright I'm off. Have a few errands to run later. I'm getting another table for the studio and picking up more supplies at Jo-Ann fabrics!

^_^ I soooo out of breath! I just ran across the street of the studio to see if the sign was visible enough! AND IT ISSSS! With holiday at my part time (not part time hours) and trying to recover when I'm done there, it has been a large struggle to be able to get what I need to get done or to even get there. SO I made some much needed changes and....I SOOO HAPPY! So I ordered the signage for the studio (located on the corner of grand river and abbott) and some more business cards. Vista biffed my first ones and they corrected so now my cards are AMAZING! We will be showing at Shuto Con this March with a booth set up (D9). There are great things coming this year and I'm so happy and blessed that it's finally happening. I will be taking pictures and it'll be in the following post, of the sign and other things. I will put a look up next week and another post. Oh by the way Vault of Midnight are now carrying Masa Yume graphic tees, so if you are down there stop by. It's an amazing shop!

Hey all! The holidays are coming and coming quick. It's freezing outside and I hope all of you are bundling up nice, tight, and stylish. I'm finally back in the studio after being tied up for a couple weeks. Now I'm able to catch up on some much needed paper work for the weekend and visit some friends I've been neglecting. I won't be able to get to everyone, but I'm going to try my hardest. So in this post I did a quick look. Comfortable with cute boots and a heavier coat so people are freezing. In February/March I'm going to be having a sample sale in the studio with yummy beverages and food. I'll keep you posted as the events and stuff are planned and when they are set in stone on the date. But it's happening! this busy time of year

This has been such a busy time of year. I've been working my butt off and I'm utterly exhausted, but I'm happy I finally am pursuing something I love more that I have ever thought I could. It's still kinda unbelievable. I can't wait til the holidays are over, only because I'll have more time to spend in the studio like I would like. It was pretty awesome though, I found a contractor only an hour away. It makes it much easier for me now that I don't have to go so far to find someone to produce in bulk, and they are a Michigan business. Which makes me ecstatic because I really want to support the local economy as well. The only thing I will end up going out of state for right now is fabric, and that is Chicago. I will be making that trip in January. So thanks for hanging in there. Soon I will have more pictures posted of the studio so you can see what I've been up too. I do post more on twitter now so if you're not following me you should definitely look into it ^_^. Well I have a little more work to do before I go to bed. Later Loves! It's coming along. I just got home, my friend Nicole and I were
putting on some finishing touches. Sadly a mirror was hurt in the
process. The shelf broke it so it was neither of us and we will

So it's official! WE HAVE STUDIO SPACE!!! Today was an amazing day. It's been three months since I've had one and December since that lol...Noting the day I got engaged and married :D hehehehe. So anyway. I got the space settled this morning and then picked up my car which I've been without for at least three months now. I'm very very very excited. So I will be posting pictures as I move along with the space trying to make it public ready. I did run into a set back today with colors and have to repaint a wall a different color...I wonder how that will work out for me...hmmmm...yeah so tomorrow is a long day ahead as well. I'm getting up butt crack of dawn early to go grab a ladder from my in-laws house (since I'm short and can't reach where I need to paint) and back to the studio to coat all the walls. Basically I'll be running from 7 til sometime after 3...maybe...a very big maybe... I'm so happy though it doesn't matter ^_^. I hope everyone else has had a great week. Oh side note: the grant with east lansing didn't work because they don't consider fashion art and I don't think I was what they were "looking" for as a human being...but they can take that and watch me do my happy dance in my new spot...WOOT!

I have the song Sex on Fire stuck in my head. And the shoes in the look below are sex on a stick. Love themmmm. I found out today the news about the grant I was after. I love how the city pulled all the crap they did and set me up with a meeting of someone who they "value her opinion" and was uber unprofessional. So that was a good portion of my day, licking my wounds and soothing my anger about the whole situation. I talked to a couple of friends of mine and then my aunt and cousin who was like go around it after my very colorful facebook update. My hubby being amazing let me cuddle so I could go to sleep for a bit.

So after my tirade I went to IHop by myself and had some yummy grub from my favorite server. Mostly since she is the one I usually get when I go there, she knows my name and I know hers. She loves fashion and will go anywhere to get the good stuff lol. I then went downtown after the food smothered a good portion of the fire I was feeling and went to the site of the studio I was trying to get. I went up tried to look through the peephole lol (stalker) and walked down the hall to the sign makers there. After meeting the amazing owner, sharing the story of my day (yeah I know), and realizing the whole thing was not my imagination of nonprofessional from the person from outside the situation. She told me that I needed to keep going and screw what that lady said. We both laughed as I told her that was pretty much what I told her. I told her that even though she wanted more words on paper it doesn't matter, I will still go forth and her opinion doesn't matter. So alas the grant is most likely not going to happen and that's fine, that way I can run my business the way it needs to be and the way I want it. Not the way they think it needs to be cause they have their own ideas about it. Works out!

My spirits are up and now I'm looking for help on getting the studio space so I can get some work done. Thanks to my husband taking up most of the sewing room. If you can really call it that anymore since there is really no room at all. Until that happens I will be working mainly on accessories, which really doesn't require much space. So socks for this christmas, some with bows, some with ribbon. As well as soft long scarves to go with. I will post them when they are done to my ETSY, and I will do bundle pricing for those who want both. So on to the look. I really love the shoes coat and purse. nom nom nom lol. Thanks for following! Hello! So I have been up to all types of shinny things lately (crosses fingers). The main reason for my absence is the fact that I am going for a grant in east lansing that is designed to help those get a leg up on their business. It's been a month and a half and teeth pulling craziness. I have one last step (technically the same step they have me repeat over adn over again even after being completed and with no valid reasoning) and hopefully I'll be on my way. I've been working very hard on my brand over the years and it's time for this very important step. I will hopefully be getting the studio that has been hanging out in East Lansing so people have a place to come and see me and such. I have to do some more nit picky things tomorrow and then hopefully they will stop stalling and finally say okay here we go. So that is what has been going on with that more or less, mainly less. Depending on what happens you'll here evverryyything lol.

SO moving on. I did an outfit. Yes after weeks without one I did one. It was mostly inspired on my day tomorrow. I need to look picture perfect and meeting appropiate and I love this look. The strong hint of color in the shoes, the long dress like trench, and the slightly color accessories and makeup. One of the things I've noticed for this fall is that some of the trenches are still classic but there are some designers (like myself) who are playing with the structure a bit. Making them look more like a dress or just giving different cuts to the coats all together. I myself have not finished my coat and not even have gotten started. I have been so consumed with the grant that even my friends and family have wondered where I've gone. I told my friend earlier that my life is like the Sims game, I'm hitting the fast forward button so I can get to where I need to be. I don't like to be stalled or made to wait for whatever reason it's being done and I have things to do. I want to go forth and do (more) great things. And that is what I intend to do.

I would love to get more comments from you guys as well. I find when they hit my inbox, I do a small happy dance that someone has read and either liked or disliked the post. So please keep them coming, helps me think I'm not talking to myself...even though I have been known to do that too. only one who actually entered. I'm happy someone did, I would have
been a sad panda lol. So Si did post on her facebook when she got the
goodies and loved them. She requested that I send more hi-chew candy

The top 2 are my husband's pumpkins and the bottom one is mine. I'm big on tradition Halloween is my favorite holiday. My husband didn't use to be real big on the pumpkin carving, then I've noticed the last couple of years, he's really diggin it. Last year (in my archives) he did some really eillabrate(sorry about my spelling) pumpkins. This year he's gone amuc! He's doing four and is looking for a perfect green light for his michigan state inspired pumpkins. I love how excited he gets about it, and I can tell he's trying to stay calm lol. So I did an headless horseman and made 4 batches of my beloved pumpkin seeds. This year I did the regular ones I do, and a spicy batch. Both oh so yummy. The hubby is working on one of his msu pumpkins as I type. I will post the winner of the contest in the next entry. Sorry I didn't put it up sooner. Hello! I have been trying to blog all weekend with a new look attached, but it was just not working, along with the browser not letting me bring up blogspot. SO finally I am able to do both. Upload a new look and a quick word. It was so much hotter than I would have liked it to be today, it was crazy hot. It was pretty outside however. I got up early to meet with the lady who photographed my wedding. Love her! She took over 600 pictures and everyone of them amazing, I'm so happy with them. Next I plan to make a cool album with them, but she has expressed in interest in doing it for me, so that might be what happens :). She was super cool and easy to work with, and all around I'm happy with the results. So in doing amazing, I've asked her to take pictures of the surprise I have coming when it's finished. I'm so excited! So here's my look from today.

At church this weekend I was delighted to find out that a friend of mine starting a beauty store in China. It's like Clinque (or any makeup line of your choosing) but in a stand alone store. I'm soooo proud of her. She's incredibly bright and nice, I'm happy for her. Today went by pretty fast for a Monday...Tuesday...I mean. I don't know why I thought it was Monday hahaha! Today is gorgeous outside. This will always be my favorite time of the year. Fall is just awesome on all fronts. So today is more of a work day with lounge wear. I do have some a few errands to run and I will get on that when I'm done watching Popeye the Sailor Man lol. While out shopping with my mom and grandmother the other day we came across a bin of $5 movies at walmart. In there I found lots of old movies that I probably won't find anywhere else and some old time cartoons that I will always have a special place for. So I will be inside most of the day working with Masa Yume, trying to bring out that surprise that will most likely happen early next month, and doing a wix website til I can link my domain to it. I have painted my nails, worked on the fall 2011 line, and now to make some tea on the quick break I'm taking away from the computer.

a touch of color

It's fall and it is great! The smell of the crisp air, the feel of the breeze, and the tea in my belly :D! I love this time of year! You are going to start seeing lots of coats that are going to keep the wind whipping at your arms and legs to a minimum and hopefully with a bit of personality. I did a fall outfit with a coat below, the coat is brown, but to add some personality I added color to help the outfit to be more fun. I'm all a twitter, can't wait to go to the fabric store and pick out some cool fabric and lining for my own fall jacket! I will post the swatch pictures as soon as I figure out what I'm doing. I was thinking of doing a two pattern jacket, with a princess cut and asymmetrical lines....hmmmm....there's a thought. Oh well, on to the look!

So if you are were in the mid- Michigan area today you would have been drenched in loads and loads of rain. I had to work at my new job today and every time it would start to pour it sounded like the roof was going to cave in. All I could think of was going outside and wearing a great pair of boots and accessories. I love rain so I wasn't upset about it either. I would more so love to have picked up and gone to a coffee shop and enjoyed yummy warm tea while catching up on the crazy monster size of entries I've missed. I refuse to delete the blogs that I follow since I haven't been able to get on in a while. SO I will catch up on them since I love them so. A few of the people who follow this one I follow theirs. :D . In inspiration of the rain and fall (the best part of the year) I did an outfit. YES! They are back...by popular demand...mainly me ;).

I even put in an umbrella. When I was looking threw all of the umbrellas this site offered I saw inspirations for outfits to come and pieces for upcoming lines :D. As I have grown so has my line and I'm very proud of that. The lines before I wouldn't change at all even if they are outdated (such is fashion) since they have helped me to continue to hone my fashion into what it is becoming (which is simply put...amazing!). I hope you continue to stay with me as a show you what I'm working with :D. (drift back to the song lol). Anyways I hope everyone is enjoying their week! Yeah for hump day! It's official...I am now...wait for it....a...married woman! I know I have been gone for a couple months, but with the wedding it got to be to much for me to do. There have been a lot of changes going on. For one I quit my full-time job and took a different part-time one. Loving the extra time I have now to make sure I bring you some extra nice fashion. It's been a week and two days since I've tied the knot and yesterday (8-29) we had our 10th anniversary. SO happy! That all happened while I was getting done with the final prep for the wedding. It was amazing though, everything was beautiful and my family was great. It was mostly stress free thanks to the efforts of the fam and my mom and aunt did a lot! It was amazing! The music was great and the people there to celebrate with us were amazing. I will put up a couple photos when I get them back from the amazing photographer I had.

Now it's back to the grind. I'm updating my twitter a lot more than I was, and hopefully I will get better at it. I'm also working on a couple of side projects with Masa Yume and it's going to be pretty damn awesome if I may say so myself. I'm trying to convince my husband (sooo weird to call him that) to let me buy a Mac. I really want one, if not that I would settle for a new PC. It's been a good five years since my last one and the things I'd like to be doing with the brand and such will need an upgraded computer. He also needs one, but eh! lol. Since I'm working less, I have more time to focus, which I can't say that's not what I wanted. I freaked out when I had to do a part time instead of what I was doing, but I'm so happy it happened that way.

I will be updating the blog for now on at least a twice a week, either it be with what's going on in the world of Masa Yume, what I think is going to be in for the season to come, a look of the day/week, or just what we are diggin'. But something will go up! :D I'm really excited for the changes that are going to be happening, that have actually already started. Once it gets closer and closer I will let you know how to get in on some blog contests and freebies from me. It will be in time to get your fall/winter wardrobe on! So thanks for sticking with me for my lack of updates and such while I was getting married, and for just hanging out and being interested all together! Hope everyone has an awesome week! Now for some ice cream with butterscotch or caramel on top...whatever that tan substance is in the refrigerator...!

I've been so busy lately. With the wedding, the brand, moving and such it's been a lot. My fiance has finally moved in (actually a couple of months ago) and my sewing room is currently inexcessable. He has taken over the sewing room with his office! BAH! I plan on reclaiming my territory after the wedding :D. We are working on a new logo and website as well as some other things in the mix. I will tell you more about it when they are a little more exciting then they already are.Until then please enjoy the outfit that I have also been slacking on. Eileen and myself have been busy working on new things to bring you. I know Eileen may have something up her sleeve, but it is a secret...from me too :D. Eileen and myself went to an FGI (Fashion Group International) Creative Connection. I saw a few faces that I haven't seen since before winter and a few new faces as well. All in all it was a great time, and I met great people.

The Sacrifices We Make for Fashion

I would like to preface this by saying, no, I don't mean wearing really uncomfortable shoes because they are ridiculously gorgeous (although did you see the shoes I got at Urban Outfitters the other day?! I KNOW, right?!).

I am more taking about the pure monetary cost of fashion, and the, let us say, opportunity costs of spending on fashion. Economics is required for me to graduate from college, so yes, I am trying to make it worth my time (and my money)!

The amount I spend on clothes is probably ridiculous to some people, yet a mere month's shoe budget to others. This is the whole point of spending on fashion, and really, anything in life. One must spend within one's means. I own 40 pairs of shoes! But I also don't have many expenses right now as a college student, and I am also not whipping out the plastic for a pair of Jimmy Choos (a girl can dream, though). I will also never be able to buy the Reem Acra dress to the left, but maybe I'll splash out when I get married in, y'know, 20 years (photo gilt.com)

Trying to go to Germany for the whole year is, well, expensive. It has made me reevaluate what I spend on fashion, and left me both working doubly hard to make money this summer. Especially as I am turning to buying higher quality clothes, the thirst for trends is still present in my life.

So how do I balance it? Poorly, sometimes, I must admit. The rule of no online shopping is something that I have stuck by, and it has helped a lot! I also do not have a credit card, so I know exactly how much I am spending at any time. I also opened a Certificate of Deposit at my local credit union, which I can open with as little as 5o dollars and add up to 5000 more! Since I can't touch that money, I am going to put as much into it as possible, and then I am not able to touch the money! Germany bound, baby! Anything beyond the set amount I put in my CD, and the set amount I put in a savings account is mine to spend, or save for something awesome.

I have also been checking out places like Gilt and Hautelook! I hope I can nab some of the brands I love for a lot cheaper this summer. If you want to join Gilt or Hautelook, click here or here!

The takeaway: even though I am a student with relatively few expenses, I still have to pinch my pennies! Fashion is something I love, and I know that as long as I stick to my financial plan and work more hours, I can make sure I get a good dose of what I love, and I hope you can too!

While traipsing through Macy's today I pass this really cool sequin vest, being worn by Monica. After stalking her for a full blown minute, I finally approached Monica and asked her where she got her oh so sweet vest. Which she promptly answered, "China."....Fail! But she was so sweet that she said she would help me get one. She was a very nice girl and with the help of my new IPhone and the Itranslate app I installed on it a couple days after I got it, we spoke easily. I sent her the photo since she likes it just as much as I do. So thank you Monica for the pic of your great outfit and letting me stalk you for 10 minutes. ^_^

I like that fact that she had fun with her look. Besides me going all chibi over her vest, I really liked that she had fun with this look. I'm not usually a big fan of plaid with other prints, however she made it work well. I hope to see you again miss Monica ^_^ have fun with your studies, I'm sure you'll do well.

A "Hello" From the Intern!

Hey y'all, it's Eileen: the Masa Yume intern. I'll be popping my head into the blog every so often and keeping you updated with what's going on with the world of Masa Yume, the world of me, and the world of fashion! Which really can't be too bad, can it?

That's me, by the way, to the left. I am a college student at Michigan State University (Go Green!). I am a first year, with way, way too many majors. They include International Relations, as well as Comparative Cultures and Politics. Not to mention a German minor and a Western European Specialization (of course, I just DID mention them)! Kind of strange that I'm not doing anything fashion related, but that's the way it goes!

Candice and I met in Macy's fortuitously one day in...June? I don't really remember..it seems so long ago! (Psst, that's the month I put on my resume, Candice...am I right??) Something that had hit the good ol' blogosphere just then was these awesome harness belts by Norwegian Wood, but of course, I am poor, so I went to Jo-ann's and bought myself 7 dollars worth of elastic and shiny harnessy bits and made one for myself! Huzzah for DIY! Long story (somewhat) short, Candice and I struck up a conversation and I became The Intern, learning about sewing, fashion design, and anything else that came along (such as: how to write a business plan and how Mary Kay is ALWAYS A TRAP).

So that is the story of the intern, finally posting on the blog during Spring Break (Hah! I have so much work to do, it is NOT BREAK AT ALL).

So the fuzzy little creature that pokes his little head out once a year decided that yes, winter is around for six more weeks...FAIL! ugh...now it's not like it's been the most horrible winter, however I'm so over the freezing cold. Plus since Michigan isn't getting really any sun you just feel lethargic all day long. You wake up sleepy. So something to make me feel like the sun will come out tomorrow...yeah I know. What do you think happens when you don't see the sun consistently for six months, you start making horrible movie puns. side-note: I hated that movie. I wanted to go to Premier this year in New York, but I'll be doing inventory lol. Oh well...and for those I haven't told I'm engaged! I'll be getting married this year to the man I've loved for a uber long time...sooo excited. I got engaged on December 6th after we finished decorating the Christmas tree. He did great! SO EXCITED! Sorry I know it's been a long time since I've posted. With working retail during holiday season I've been running around like an elf...yeah elf...sounds good. So I took a little break and still have a bunch of things I want to start in on. The fall line has a few more pieces that need to be sketched out, but it's just about done. I'm sooo sad that Halloween is over! I love love LOVE Halloween and always have. This year I passed out candy with my mom and we watched old "scary" movies. It was great. I wasn't that big into going out this year, but always love to hang with my mom. The boyfriend and I also found time to head out to Uncle John's Cider Mill. It was a great time to be had by all. I think I possibly rubbed off on my guy this year because he was carving pumpkins to his little hearts content. I did one he did three...kinda put me to some holiday shame. Once Halloween ended you could feel the switch in the air! I was even more pumped to get this Holiday out this week. I was already excited, but now I'm talking fast...which I think make a lot of people sad, because it probably makes their heads want to explode...hehehehe

I've been hard at work getting holiday ready to drop this week. My poor intern who is very anxious to help out and see what the designs are is hard at work getting her learn on. Anyways! I'm just taking a small break before I go back to the "funness" of cutting out the patterns. Look for Holiday to drop this week, I'm going to be a busy busy bee. I also bought a new pilates dvd so we will see how that works out for me seeing that I really don't like pilates. But I also don't like the extra love I'm carrying around either lol. well I know that I've been away for awhile, but I told myself I had to so make sure I got done what needed to be done. SOOOO to let you all know what I've been up to, I've been reworking my business plan. Now am I completely finished?...well no...however I have finished the most important parts. So now all I have left is a summary and my intern will look at it this Wednesday to make sure I didn't get off topic lol. I have a tendency to rant and babble on like a giant ninny...like this time when I was a church camp...hehehehe.

I went out to Chicago with the man toy to visit my old stomping ground. Yes it was only for a year and a half, but I miss it soo. I made a dress that morning (2am to be exact) to where there. It is actually kind of a sneak peek to the holiday line. It will have a bit of a different twist however. So I went to my friend Anastasia Chatzka's shop. It's amazing. I love the decor! It was sooo inspiring. She is doing so many great things right now so keep a look out for her. Then I went to Schaumburg and visited some old friends there as well.

The best part of my whole trip besides the spontaneous picnic my boyfriend at my favorite park. ugh it was sooooo great. Even though we had to eat in the car because the rain didn't let up. So after the rain stopped we took a walk in the park...hehehee. However back to the best part...on the way to Anastasia's store on Division street it was ohhhh so very windy. And since I don't really wear skirts or dresses that often I kind of forgot ohhh be careful of the gusts lol. Well lets just say next time I'm going to charge for the goodies that the CHI got to see. hehehe...my boyfriend however couldn't stop laughing and smirking to save his life. All in all though a fantastic time!

Paul(the boyfriend)and I went to the new casino today...I lost 20 bucks :*( . Paul won 90 bucks though...lucky...I pouted. I got to play with a new kitty though and that made up for it. She is sooo cute! I love the feeling of kitty paws lol...what did you do this weekend?

Sorry I've been away. I've been trying to stay mostly chilled during my time off. It's necessary trust me! I got my stitches out Friday, and I can now put on shows to keep down my swelling and wear sandals at night to relax. I have an appointment with the Dr. on Friday so they can take a look to make sure things are going well. Anyways, Masa Yume has been going threw some changes and growths. I am building a stronger brand and trying to get my designs out the way the are meant to come across. I'm happy to know such great people that are just as creative, if not more so, that are so helpful and smart. By next year sometime Masa Yume will be a bigger brand than it is now, and finding more ways to creep happily into your yummy closets, BWAH HA HA! Enjoy the below look!

well for those who do not know, I had surgery on Friday. Apparently it's unusual to grow an extra bone or two in your big toe lol. Yeah freaky. So I'm currently just not feeling well all together thanks to the medication they have me on. So When I "work" I start to just feel like crap...But! Hello all! The show happened last night and OMGoodness... It was sooo crazy but in a good way. I'm so happy that people were able to make it out. Ok! So I've been away for a very long time. I'm oh so sorry. I've been plugging away in the sewing room being up for 24 hours if need be. I still have three more to go, but that will be done on Thursday. Which gives me some much needed time to clean my apartment overnight and sleep. The fitting was yesterday and it went pretty well I think. The three that I didn't get to fit I already know who's wearing what and they will come to me for the fitting, which is always shiny.

After 2 monsters and a couple naps(so I didn't literally sew my fingers. almost happened twice) and being up since Monday 8:30am, I was helped a lot on Tuesday. My boyfriend drove my model Sara and myself down to Royal Oak for the fitting. After getting helped from the other fabulous designer, Luminita Popa, we headed home. I'm not fully recovered from this sewing adventure so please forgive me if I repeat myself. When we got back my boyfriend made sure I ate and tucked me into bed. I know very sweet right?...Well it's the only way he knew that I wouldn't stay up and check blogs and watch t.v. all night lol. Oh Oh! My intern is back from Ireland. I got a text message as soon as she touched down in New York. Woot!

There are none me, because I look oh so very less than sexy when I sew. I don't even look okay lol. I get all frustrated because I don't think I go fast enough so it's not a good look. Trust ont that ^_^. I'll be back to blog in the next few days. I still have the accessories and finishing touches to do, just for starters lol. So although the sewing will be almost finished there is still more. I'm so happy to have Eileen and my friend Soojin to help me.

I was just stopping by to give a quick update before my boyfriend sees me and yells at me for not using the sewing machine instead of the computer. He's sick right now so he's especially grumpy (grrr...). SO! I still have 10 outfits and a jacket left to do by thursday before work lol! AHHHHH! If I do two outfits a day I might be able to get by. I will need lots and lots of coffee. SO anyways, after fixing the fabric snaffu and figuring out it's plans I feel a bunch better, and have been going at it full force.

So when I left work today I was walking to my car, and I see three girls. I smile (cause that's what I do to EVERYONE)and I go to get in my car. But they start to wave at me like they know me and I was like ummmmm. I looked behind me and found yes they were in fact looking at me. So they say hi and I say hi. They wanted to know how to get to Meijer. I was like well it's right across the street. They kinda did a deer in headlight look at me. Grand River is a very busy street, so I offered to give them a ride across the street only if they were okay with that. They agreed and were very sweet. I asked where they were from and they are from China. I was like great! I greated them in Mandarin and took them across the street. They asked me about taxis and why they weren't circling the mall. I explained Michigan doesn't really do that a lot(^_^). So they asked me questions in the car about heroes.

They asked me who my hero was (MOMMY), and what was the last movie I watched that had heroes in it. Now that took me a minute because I haven't been out at all with the fashion show and looking for sponsors and whatever. So I told them Batman and I like James Bond. I got a look of ummm who's James Bond lol. Well then in Mandarin (because I looovvvveee Drama's) I told them ling ling chee. Now that is sooooo spelled wrong, but you get me. They asked my I spoke so well and if I've been to China. Anyways I found them numbers for a taxi and how to find info free. So that's it. LONNNNNNGGGG and I know it lol. Well, I have to go sew I have to have at LEAST a full outfit and a half done before midnight...>_< Btw I do have an anime and drama blog if you're interested. I just am still trying not to put spoilers in it...That might not happen lol. Its Anime Drama Junkie Have a good week. ^_^

Okay! Finally! After numerous calls and countless disappoints... its here. A 70lbs box of a multiple array of fabrics. Yes! The poor UPS guy...I saw him and pretty much jumped on him like a golden retriever welcoming home its pet lol. I then saw how much strain the guy, who happened to be like 55+ years old, and let him carry it to my apartment which is on the top floor...yeah, yeah I know but it looked so heavy. So I opened the package I've been waiting weeks for, and shiny...I've been very stressed out the last few weeks dealing with something that shouldn't have taken this long. Then I see shiny fabrics...I was freaking out.

I kinda still am. But I don't have time to send it back, and after being reassured by Soojin and my neighborhood Jo-Ann Fabrics employee, I can breathe. Plus things happen for a reason and I know what I can do sooooo no worries. I will start sewing tonight. SO folks it begins. In a week and a half to two weeks, there are going to be 16 outfits with the help of my intern Eileen and my friend Shakia. I will be on occasionally to keep my sanity, and if my boyfriend doesn't see me sneak away from the machine ^_^. Enjoy the pics of my shipment lol 124 yards of fabric baby! AHHHH! I've been working on pieces from the line and now I'm out of stuff to do until my fabric gets here. I'm a very bored person right now. Which I guess is a good thing if you think about it. Seeing that when the fabric does get here I'm going to be working constantly. I'll be sewing, working, working, sewing, and nap...hehehe. Which is fine. I love what I do. I just got a new part time job so hence why I had to say working twice. I'm usually a girl with a lot on my plate sooo nothing new really. I will be pretty much unreachable unless you call me, and don't mind the noise that a sewing machine will make :). So today I did a look. Sorry I've been slacking on that.

I'm sorry I've been MIA for so long. I've been trying to figure out the whole "fun" fabric situation. Ugh it's been glorious may I say. So now with that figured out its on bitches! I got my shipment of socks in so look forward to some oh so sexy socks to come. Yes that IS what I said. Also, Masa Yume has finally gotten a reliable intern. Her name is Eileen! I met her at Macy's and her D.I.Y. vest caught my eye.

After talking and perhaps being creepy for five minutes, I gave her my card. She will be with me as I take this leap into 121 yards of fabric. Yes folks that's a lot and that's not even all of it. hehehehe...when I see fabric I get breathless, stutter, drool, and my brain stops making complete thoughts or sentences. There is so many things going on I just can't help myself. OH! and the Exclusive Fashion Show is now on August 8th. It will be Masa Yume and La Vie Fashions showing their fall/winter fashion. I hope everyone is having a great 4th of July weekend! I just got back from watching some oh so marvelous fireworks. Ugh they were great! Full with people setting off their own in the parking lot and the police coming in minutes to tell them to "stop it." As well as some very random man who kept yelling during the show,"I love Michigan...Yeah Michigan!" Ahhh feel the love for your home state! Anyways. I got to spend time with my love and my love's sister and daughter. It was a great time. I love getting to spend time with those I care for a great deal. Sorry it's been a while since my last blog. I had the last four days off from my 40hour and took that time to a lot of stuff that I've been trying to work on. Mainly working on the August 1st show. It's going to be all types of awesome and some great people will be attending. If anyone is interested in going please let me know. So anyways, I cancelled my trip to New York finding that the people said they would send me swatches i.e. more money going towards my fabric. SOOO EXCITED! Also I heard of another wholesale fabric place in Michigan and went to Warren to find out about it. But when I get there they are only open wed-sat! UGH!

I live a good 1 and 30 away from there, plus the other designer I was suppose to go with couldn't go last minute as I was my way to her house to pick her up. It took me almost 3 hours to get there. Very happy about that! The designer totally had a family thing that she forgot about so it's not like its a big deal. My day was salvaged by my awesome friends at Michigan's Next Top Model and Soojin. I was able to talk to Soojin for a bit and I ate lunch with the ladies from MNTM. Yummy Thai! So anyways the show is coming along rather well. We are going to have some great goodies in the Swag bag. I'll take pictures once I get everything together, and tell you what each piece is. That way you can salavate and go oohh and ahhhh. LOL!

Anyways, I go back to work tomorrow and I just got a part time as well. So needless to say til the show I'm going to be verrry busy. I have my swatches coming so I will be a jedi ninja(hehehehe) for the next 20 days making everything and possibly havign to be dragged from my sewing room. Don't worry folks...I'm a professional...lol. During the other show I did last year I had to make 21 pieces in 30 days, so YES it can be done. >_< I'm just going to have to make sure I ask Soojin to make sure I take water breaks lol!

ugh. So no one will be surprised to hear that I HATE summer! It's way to hot for me. I'm a spring and fall sort of girl. The seasons to were it's not to hot or too cold. It's not at all attractive when you're trying to put your pants on and it so hot and sticky that you can't really pull of your pants without a fight...just saying. So that aside I am planning to go New York here soon. I hope that I actually can get it together so that I can go get my fall fabric. It may be a little late season wise, but trust me the new line...wellllll worth the wait. I also want to look into possibly getting a studio. I love the whole wake up and it's there sort of thing, but I would love it even more if it wasn't. I'm not opposed to sleeping on a futon on those nights that I'm to tired to drive home. So it's up in the air and well see. Plus with the show coming up and things starting to move forward (Lord and paper will ;D) I can't have potential clients traipsing threw my apartment. I wouldn't want to put them threw that :D. It's not messy, but it's uncomfortable when it's someone elses home and you've never been before. So you never know if there is a masked murderer in the closet waiting to treat you like you just had sex at summer camp.(Horror film "JASON" reference and long winded) SO onto the look.

I'm not a summer gal clearly, but for those who wear shorts in this horrific weather, here is a way to still look oh so foxy with not a lot on. The makeup is just real simple. The lipgloss from Prescriptives has glitter in it and it smells ohhhh so nice. Then of course the MAC blot powder. It comes in loose and pressed. I love it. I get sweaty and it eats it like candy woot! I really don't like looking sweaty even if I am. I actually put it on atop the MAC mineral press powder and although my friend at MAC, Alisha said you can't really tell the diff. I could. I applied the mineral with look fantastic with the sponge then brushed on the blot powder. Try it yourself and tell me if you notice the difference. Well I have an early day. I'm at home, but it doesn't mean that the world is. We can't all be stuck at home watching MADTV waiting to pass out on the couch...hehehe. I know I need to get out more...meh. I did a fun look with black and golds. I love color as we all know so I had to do some green eye shadow. 'Cause GREEN is my favorite col ah (singing Pink by Aerosmith). Paired with sweet bermuda shorts, hot sexy like heels, and strut down the street. Instead of during a purse I did a small wallet. This is not normal for me since I would use a medium sized suitcase as a purse. My boyfriend makes fun of me all the time about it...moving on...

So yesterday was exhausting! But I loved it! I am having a show on August 1st. I don't want to call it a fashion show, because it's not just a show. It's more of an fashion show with an intimate feel. It'll be 80 people and in Royal Oak at the Michigan Next Top Model headquarters. I'm so excited about this its AMAZING! I also got to have a very great lunch date with my friend Soojin! It was so much fun! We went boutique shopping, ate great food, and I introduced her to Oberwise. Yummiest ice creamy goodness ever! Soojin look very cute! I loved her outfit. She was wearing a grey long top with ties at the side, leggings, and flat black boots. I didn't realize how long her hair was. OMGosh I'm sooo working on getting mine that long. I enjoyed the conversation and she is hilarious. It's nice to find another nutty person. ^_^

Well I just pretty much got home from a loooongggg and eventful day. I spent the day in Royal Oak for the most part. Had lunch with my friend Soojin (by the way I loved her outfit!), and went to Michigan's Next Top Model to look at it as a venue for the show coming on August 1st. With all that is currently going on with Masa Yume, I'm trekking along like a starship trooper. (hehehehe I'm a closet geek...well was). Anywho There is a lot of new things coming along and in the works. I will be going to New York asap for a fabric trip. Also I will be in Royal Oak tomorrow looking at the venue for the fashion show at the end of July and having a long awaited lunch with a friend of mine. I'm so excited about this fall line and finally being able to have it produced. It's amazing and different from what people usually see from me. You'll just have to stay tuned to see what all the hub bub is about...soooo worth it. ^_^

So for the look of today I went with a casual and stylish look. I was running around a lot at work today, and found myself thinking "I wish I wouldn't have worn this t-shirt". But eh...so this is if you have a ton of things to do but want to look pretty nice doing so. On my days off I wear heels. They are not very functional to wear while I'm at work. So since my feet are not as use to them as they used to be, I pack a pair of flip flops in my purse for comfort =). Rock on tomorrow!

Well, I finally poked my head up from the sewing machine to find out that 5 hours had past....oops. I was all into the dress I was making for a friend of mine. Now I get to relax, watch some anime (or play sims haven't decided) then go to bed. It was a great weekend to have off and spend with family and work on just Masa Yume. Since I have a 40hour I work when I get home on my fashion line. So I'm constantly moving ^_^. Oh I forgot to mention I got a new doo. I love it! I will post pictures later. The fall line is coming along and I'm very excited. Look forward to a completely different style than the first line. It will still have color but it is out of the box and its FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! Stay tuned there are a lot of things coming. I think I'll watch anime. NIGHT!

Well folks. It's off to the big apple. Yes Masa Yume is going to New York next week. I am meeting with some wholesalers so I can get an even better quality of fabric. I'm soo excited. So as no one may know I a bit of a nerd...actually more geeky. ANYway! E3 started and OMGoody Goody GOODNESS! XBox 360 has done something marvelous. Now I admit, not a fan of the XBox. I'm a Playstation and Gamecube girl. Now I'm going to have to become a XBox girl. They will be coming out with a game that senses where you are. SO your movement is displayed as an avatar on the screen. Not a tiny baby avatar, but a life size on screen avatar.

With pretty cool exercise games designed to make sure your not on the couch and actually going for the red animated ball coming towards your face, down to the interactive painting you can do. :takes breath: Yes painting, they were hurling buckets, yes buckets! paint to help come up with the picture they wanted (no actual metally buckets needed to accomplish this).

But the best part of this painting things is that you can take a picture of what you want to add to your painting with the fun Neval(?) that knows what your movements are. OH OH OH and a actual avatar that stays "alive" in your game. You can interact with him too. That I will say is rather creepy. But upside, they have the fastest scanner I've ever seen! Okay now I need to calm myself cause I'm all riled up and ready to buy. Well I know this post is rather long and not fashion oriented, but hey I'm geeky and need to let it out!

so today at 5:30 in the morning I started the day out in a weird like back pain. I'm fine right now, nothing a good pain reliever couldn't fix. But the sad part is that I have been put on rest by my mother and boyfriend. Dangit! I really could be sewing right now in a euphoric trance, but I don't have a chair with proper back support =D. SO anyways I was still somewhat eventful today. I set up my new shop on Etsy. I had signed up and everything for it earlier this month, but haven't really taken the final step of posting anything. So now I have and you should visit Masa Yume. It's not the whole spring line, but it's a good start. So take a look. It's the shop I'll be rockin with. This weekend the bliss of love was in the air. My cousin Tatiana got married to her new husband Donny. Of course I took many pictures because I was cuter than normal as well. I say this because I normally don't wear accessories, due to the lovely allergic reaction I have to things not real. I can't wear fake gold, silver, or stainless steel. Anyways, while getting ready for the wedding, I realized that my neck was just bland, and open canvas. So I asked my mom to borrow one of her pieces while she was running out the door with the wedding potatoes (best dish in the world). After I heard "take what you want" I went with it. I found this beautiful gold necklace and didn't care if I would break out from it(which I haven't)see pics below.

Yesterday I went down to Detroit with a friend of mine. After Yolanda and I didn't find what she was looking at in the shop in Detroit we got a weeee bit lost on the way back to Lansing. HA! So I just decided to go home instead. On the way to Lansing we stopped at Twelve Oaks Mall instead of wasting a trip. We had a great time. I am now officially in love with Nordstroms. I tried on fabulous shoes (felt bad cause I didn't buy any after making her work). I went to Teavana and I've loved their tea since my stint in the Chicago burbs. Oh and Nordstroms cafe is amazing. Its not like the crap in the cases you point to what you want, and its been sitting there all day. It was made to order fresh and amazing. After some lovely Mediterranean soup we had desert it was yummy. ^_^ White Chocolate Bread Pudding! Ughh! ^_^ So I'm not a big makeup person to begin with. After seeing these photos I should get into it a bit more hehehe.
